⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Most high achiever I speak to are working out and and eating healthy.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And even though they are making some progress with their bodies, the more they progress, the more they start to feel tired, low on energy and low sex drive.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We’ve been conditioned to believe that at 40+ this is just part of aging.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Truth be told it’s not aging, it’s a lack of micronutrients that are lowering your testosterone levels.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When you cut calories – and you always do when you’re losing weight, whether you count them or not – you’re naturally eating less food.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When you eat less food, you’re also eating less nutrients.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If your body is not getting in enough of certain nutrients, this will slowly show up in the way you feel, perform and also look.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
From consulting and coaching 100’s of guys in their 40’s and upwards I’ve seen that most of them lack 3 nutrients that are sending their testosterone levels downwhill.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The first one is selenium.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Selenium is an essential trace mineral.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It is a constituent of selenoproteins that play important roles in the body including antioxidant protection, thyroid gland function, DNA synthesis and roles in the immune system and reproduction.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A deficiency in selenium can lead to pain in the muscles and joints, unhealthy hair, and white spots on the fingernails and impact testosterone levels.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In long-term cases, it may even lead to Hashimoto’s disease, a condition in which the body’s own immune system attacks the thyroid.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Next one is zinc.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This one is big for guys who don’t eat fish or meat.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Zinc is an essential mineral forming a component of more than 300 enzymes in the body with functions including wound healing, immune system function, building proteins and DNA, fertility in adults and growth in children.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Zinc is also needed for maintaining the senses of smell and taste.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A deficiency in zinc can lead to stunted growth, diarrhea, impotence, hair loss, eye and skin lesions, impaired appetite, and depressed immunity.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Last one is vitamin D.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s actually not even a vitamin, but has been labeled as one.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s essential to your body for the absorption of calcium, bone development, immune functioning and alleviation of inflammation.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A deficiency of Vitamin D can lead to lower levels of testosterone, a weakened immune system or poor hair growth.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Most guys who sit for 10h straight at their desk typically don’t get lot of sunlight, so they are highly deficient in D vitamin.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s always better to get natural sunlight for this than supplementing it, but go for the latter if you’re not spending enough time outside.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
These are just 3 nutrient deficiencies that I’ve seen from the men I work with.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There are a lot more that will impact how you feel, your performance, your mental energy and physical strength.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s the reason why every client gets in a blood panel of their hormones, and later on even further vitamins and minerals to spot any deficiency – and then tackle it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Mistake is most guys just buy supplements without knowing what their blood work is.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So they either underdose or overdose is.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Go get some blood panel – you can also order it online – and see where you’re at.
