My body is not working anymore the way it used to

“My body is not working anymore the way it used to”

This is a common phrase I hear from men when they cross 40.

They are following the exact same diet plan and workouts as they did 20 years ago, but aren’t getting the same results.

After hiring a few personal trainers and nutritionists without much to show for, they usually go and see their doctor.

And doctors will tell them you’re fine.

Your blood work looks normal.

And start convincing you that your symptoms aren’t a big deal.

Yet deep down you know that’s not the case.

You know that there is something else missing.

The healthcare system has incredibly low standards for what they deem ‘normal’.

Why else are so many people in America obese?

If you follow me you don’t just want to settle for average.

You’re go getter, a high achiever and want to your physique to match your business success.

You are already disciplined and got the drive.

Guys like you usually you’re just missing a few adjustments with your diet, hormones & workouts.

As Will Rogers says:

“It isn’t what we don’t know that gives us trouble, it’s what we know that ain’t so.

I’ll give you a few examples.

With reduced thyroid function, this means your metabolic rate is down.

Science shows that ketogenic diets or low carb diets can reduce metabolic rate, just as nutrient deficiencies do as they both negatively impact thyroid hormones over time.

With higher insulin resistance, carb intake, meal timing and meal frequency become more important.

With lower human growth hormones, sleep quality and circadian rhythm are key.

With low testosterone, gaining muscle and losing bodyfat becomes an uphill battle.

Your training frequency and volume have to be adjusted on your recovery, especially if your cortisol levels are high.

Because overtraining will wipe the floor with your testosterone levels.

The way you got in shape then, is not the way you’re going to get there now.

When you’re 20 or 30 you can get away with a lot more mistakes and still get good results with your body.

Because your hormones are in balance.

When you are 40, 50 and 60 a more holistic approach is required to achieve the same results.

Because your hormones are out of balance.

When deciding to work with a fitness coach, don’t just look at how they look.

Look at the results of their clients and how old those clients are.

A 20 year old guy on TRT can eat like a horse vs a 50 year old guy with a sedentary lifestyle will struggle on that approach
