Why Drinking Fruit Smoothies In The Morning Is The Worst Thing You Can Do If You Want Back The Body You Had In Your 20’s

I was having a chat with a 46-year-old RE investor the other day, who’s looking to lose 25 pounds from his love handles and mid-section.

This would put him back to college weight and college shape.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I told him to walk me through his typical day of eating.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Every day his young wife presses a fresh smoothie with greens, berries, bananas and various other fruits for him.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
He continued describing me all his meals before he said “man, I’m ALWAYS craving something. Every day. And I just don’t have the discipline to resist, so I indulge”.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It was very frustrating for him as he’s a high achiever, successful in business and in control of every other area of his life.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Yet when it comes to his weight loss and fitness, he feels like he’s not anymore in the driver’s seat.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here’s what this RE investor didn’t know about his morning smoothies …

In the world of nutrition and health so many people recommend starting your day with green smoothies, juices and fruit drinks because it’s “healthy”.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The intention is great and I can understand how this makes a lot of sense from a “health” standpoint.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Yet you’d be surprised to hear that this is one of the worst advice to give someone looking to lose weight.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In fact, there was a time when I gave the same advice.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here’s what so many coaches don’t tell you .. or don’t know about starting your day with a smoothie.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For every nutrient you eat there’s a blood sugar response.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
No matter if it’s protein, fats or carbs.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When you kick start your day with a smoothie, the majority of the ingredients in there are fruits.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
All of these fruits contain some carbohydrates that add up to a fair amount all together.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now take a look at the chart below.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When you eat fruits in the morning your blood sugar levels skyrocket.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For a moment you feel great, refreshed and ready to conquer your day.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Only to then have your blood sugar levels take a massive dip half an hour later.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
That’s when you start feeling tired and crave more foods
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s a natural response from your body to get instantly out of this dip.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m sure you can see how hard it is to say “no” to more foods in such a situation.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
By starting your day with a fruits smoothie you’re putting yourself in a spot where you’re most likely going to overeat, as you’ll be on a “craving roller coaster” all day long.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Losing 25 pounds and regaining your youthful appearance becomes a distant memory with this strategy.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It doesn’t have to end like that.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
